Cedarwood pen with gold 4-ringed band

Cedarwood is very special to us. It is iconic and endemic to the mountainous area in the Western Cape which has been named after it: the Cederberg. This huge wilderness area is wild and rugged and loved by hikers and rock climbers. The magnificent cedar trees which grow there have survived decades of fires, snowstorms, drought and floods, often growing on cliff faces and inaccessible overhangs, demonstrating both tenacity and grandeur. Though the wood may not be harvested, we were fortunate to find a derelict door made of cedarwood, and we have used a tiny offcut of it to make a few pens. This is one of them.

Refill type: Cross-style ballpoint.
